🐰 Need an easy, no-bake dessert? Got it.
🍓 Looking for something fruity and fresh? Oh, honey, there’s plenty.
🍫 Want a rich, chocolatey masterpiece? Say no more.

Whether you're throwing an Easter brunch, a big family dinner, or just need a good excuse to eat cake before noon, there’s something here for everyone. And in case you’re wondering—yes, there’s zero judgment if you make two or three. (Easter calories don’t count, right?)

🍰 Southern Sweets (Because We Like Our Desserts Like We Like Our Tea—Sweet & Strong)

If there's one thing the South knows how to do, it’s dessert. And no, our sugar-loving hearts do not apologize for it. Whether you're looking for layers of buttery cake, rich custard, or desserts so sweet they make your teeth tingle, you'll find something here that speaks to your soul.

💛 Vintage Orange Layer Cake – Soft, citrusy, and stacked higher than Aunt Carol’s hair on Easter Sunday.
🍊 Easy Pig Pickin’ Cake – A pineapple-mandarin dream that’s so creamy, it practically melts in your mouth.
🍋 Lemon Icebox Pie – A no-bake Southern classic that’s refreshingly tart and dangerously addictive.

(Full list of Southern desserts below—because we don’t do anything small around here.)

This vintage orange layer cake recipe is one of my favorite Easter desserts!

Easter is a time for celebration, whatever your personal beliefs and every great celebration deserves a little something sweet to end with.

Whether you're planning an Easter Sunday brunch or a full-on party, you'll find treats ranging from bunnies to desserts filled with Spring fruit.

Easy pig pickin' cake is creamy with pineapple and mandarin flavor.

Quick and easy? I've got you. Cute Easter bunny dessert ideas? I've got those, too.

Expert tip

Most of these desserts can be made ahead (because who wants to be frosting cupcakes while guests are arriving?). But for the ones that don’t hold up well, I’ve made a note—because no one likes a soggy cookie.

I've tried to include everything I could find that I would consider for my table from cookies to pies and pretty much everything else. I hope you'll pin this post so you can find it easily later.

Lemon fudge is so quick and easy it's almost impossible not to love it.

🍽️ Easy Easter Desserts (Because You’ve Got Enough to Worry About)

We’re talking low effort, high reward—desserts that come together in minutes and still make you look like you have your life together. (Spoiler: You do, because you’re making dessert.)

🐣 Cute Easter Desserts (Because If It’s Adorable, It Tastes Better)

🎂 Decorated Desserts (For When You Want to Show Off a Little)

Some of these require a bit more effort, but if you’re feeling ambitious (or just want to make something Pinterest-worthy), these are for you.

(No judgment if you make one of these just for the Instagram moment.)

  1. Easy Easter Dirt Cake - Chocolatey, creamy, and topped with frosting carrots. No actual gardening required.
    Gluten free option included!
  2. Spring Chicks Cupcakes - Cupcakes piled high with fluffy yellow frosting to look like baby chicks. Too cute to eat? Almost.

  4. Chocolate Tulip Cake - This is just gorgeous! A layer cake with pink frosting and white chocolate tulips - even if you're not going to make it click through and take a look at this gorgeous Easter cake.
  5. Polka Dot Cake - A layer cake filled with pastel polka dots INSIDE. Yes, it’s as impressive as it sounds.
  6. Chick Cupcakes - Ok, these look easy! A scoop of buttercream on a cupcake - a little colored coconut...voila! Check it out!

🍫 Chocolate Easter Desserts (Because Easter Without Chocolate? Blasphemy.)

Easter candy is great, but let’s be real—we want actual desserts. These recipes take chocolate to next-level status.

(Because no one has ever complained about too much chocolate.)

  1. White Chocolate Oreo Bark -Easy Oreo bark with white chocolate and pastel m&ms

Easy, no bake Woolworth's Lemon Cheesecake is as good now as it was back in the day!

🥧 Easter Pie Recipes (Because Pie Is Never Wrong)

Pie is always right, no matter what the occasion. You can call any kind of pie an Easter recipe but these are some of my family favorites. Any of these can be made at least 2 days ahead of time.

Whether you like creamy, fruity, or decadent—there’s an Easter pie for you. (Because pie is basically a universal crowd-pleaser.)

  1. Coconut Praline Pie - Creamy coconut custard over a layer of pecan praline - topped with whipped cream is the perfect Easter dessert as far as I'm concerned.
  2. Traditional Swiss Easter Rice Tart - A creamy rice custard in a sweet tart shell - one of the more unique Easter dessert ideas!
  3. Coconut Pie - This coconut pie comes from one of my very old cookbooks and it's more like a pecan pie filling but with coconut.
  4. Lemon Ice Box Pie - No bake so you can make it and take it! This one can be made ahead and frozen. Use a store bought graham cracker pie crust to keep it easy.
  5. No Bake Lemon Cheesecake - remember that luscious, light cheesecake you used to be able to get at Woolworth's? Well I've recreated it, just for you! You can make this one 2 days ahead of time.
  6. Millionaire Pie - A no-bake classic that’s fluffy, fruity, and perfectly pink.
  7. Fresh Strawberry Pie is a Shoney's copycat! No bake filling is bright and full of fresh berry flavor.
  8. No Bake Hershey's Pie is so quick and easy that it's unbelievable plus it's got all that great Hershey bar flavor! There's no better way to make a chocolate lover happy!

Traditional Easter desserts

Citrus flavors seem to find their way to the dessert table more than most other flavors. Maybe it's because we're close to Spring and ready to taste some of those bright, light flavors.

These traditional desserts are the perfect ending for Easter brunch, lunch, or dinner.

  1. Carrot Cake Cupcakes - Moist and spicy carrot cake in cupcake form.
  2. This sweet tea bundt cake starts with a lemon cake mix. It's unusual and so yummy.
  3. Strawberry Sheet Cake is made with fresh berries and it's SO delicious - and easy!
  4. Pinza Triestina (Sweet Italian Easter Bread)- Sweet orange flavored yeast bread and a sweet story to go with it! Would be great for brunch.
  5. Lemon Bundt Cake - Tangy sweet lemon bundt is packed with lemon flavor. One of my favorites.
  6. Carrot Roll - Moist and yummy carrot cake rolled around cream cheese frosting
  7. Coconut Cake - 3 layers of coconut cake filled with coconut butter cream and raspberry jam. It's a showstopper!
  8. Banana Pudding - In the south if you don't have banana pudding on the table it's not a celebration.
  9. Southern Banana Pudding with Sweetened Condensed Milk is another version that's made with cream cheese and pudding mix instead of totally from scratch.
  10. Nutter Butter Banana Pudding has peanut buttery cookies in place of the 'Nilla Wafers. Watch your peanut butter lovers go "nuts".
  11. Hummingbird Cake - I used to think this was made with hummingbirds and was relieved to find out it wasn't when I was about 6 years old. Pineapple, pecans, bananas.... everything good in this delicious cake.

  13. Orange Layer Cake - This is full of bright orange flavor.
  14. Coconut Ice Box Cake - You'll want to make this scrumptious layer cake 2 to 3 days ahead of time so that the sour cream and coconut milk have time to soak in - oh my!

🍰 The Easter Dessert Table: Where the Real Celebration Happens

If you’re hosting a big Easter gathering or potluck, the dessert table is where the real magic happens. It’s a pastel-colored paradise where cakes, cookies, and pies all come together in one glorious, sugar-filled display. Let’s be honest—people may show up for the ham, but they stay for the dessert. 🐰🍰✨

  • Throw a pastel sheet over a card table and make big bows for the corners with pastel tulle. Attach with safety pins.
  • Use pastel-colored sprinkles to add a layer of color and fun to the table. Just sprinkle them over the sheet. When it's time to clean up, fold up the sheet with the sprinkles inside and take it outdoors to give it a shake.
  • Use cake plates of different heights to hold the desserts. This adds visual interest.
  • No cake plates? Use pretty vintage plates sitting on top of sturdy glasses.
  • Terra cotta flower pots, lined with pastel tissue paper, can be filled with small desserts like cookies or candies.
  • Fill vintage tea cups with mints, pastel M&Ms, and Jordan almonds to fill in spaces between the desserts.
