I don’t know who named this drink, and honestly, I have so many questions—but here we are. Bright blue, sweet, fizzy, and dangerously easy to drink, this Sex in the Driveway cocktail is what happens when Sex on the Beach gets tired of the sand and moves to the suburbs.

If you like your cocktails fruity, fun, and a little on the scandalous side, this one’s for you. Vodka, Blue Curacao, and Peach Schnapps swirl together with bubbly Sprite to create a drink so smooth, you won’t realize what hit you until it’s too late. (Consider this your warning, y'all.)

This recipe is great but unfortunately the alcohol I used wasn’t properly measured resulting in a strong taste but still very good and I was nice and drunk lol! (Note from Restless Chipotle - we aren't responsible for generous pours 😉)
Shaniya

It’s a no-fuss, no-blender-needed cocktail that’s perfect for summer parties, backyard BBQs, or just sipping on the porch while wondering why Caillou is still on TV. Want to make a big batch for a crowd? Even easier. Just mix up a pitcher, add the soda right before serving, and watch your guests fall in love. (With the drink. Not with Caillou. No one likes Caillou.)

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce Peach Schnapps
  • 1 ounce Blue Curaçao
  • 2 ounces Vodka
  • 6 ounces Sprite, or club soda if you like it less sweet.
  • Crushed ice

Instructions

  • Place crushed ice in a highball glass (or whatever you happen to have.
  • Add the Schnapps, Curaçao, and vodka.
  • Stir.
  • Carefully top off the glass with Sprite.

Notes

  • If this fruity mixed drink is too sweet for you then try making it with club soda. You still get the pretty color and the fun fizzy bubbles but without the extra sweetness.
  • Make this ahead of time for parties and pour it into pint jars with lids. Seal the jars and put them into a container of ice. Your drinks stay cold and fizzy and you get to enjoy your party.
  • Make this low carb: Use the vodka, sugar-free-Sprite, and a few drops of electric blue Mio water enhancer. Add sugar-free peach syrup or water enhancer if you can find it.
  • Freeze Maraschino cherries inside ice cubes to add to this cocktail. It's really pretty and the colors don't bleed into each other.
  • If you have an ice cream maker this makes a great slushy drink! Add to your ice cream maker and mix until partially frozen. OR use a margarita machine!

🎉 By the pitcher

This bright blue vodka cocktail doesn't need to be blended or shaken so it's great when you need a pitcherful. You can mix up the base and then add the Sprite or club soda as you need to.

🥫 Leftover love: how to store

Have some leftover? Store, tightly covered, in Mason jars in the refrigerator. You'll likely need to add a bit more Sprite for fizz when you drink it but other than that it will still be delicious!

Blue cocktail with a red and white straw.

💭 Insider tips: things to know

  1. Not a fan of super-sweet drinks? Swap the Sprite for club soda to keep the bubbles but ditch the extra sugar.
  2. Low-Carb Version: Use diet Sprite and a few drops of electric blue Mio water enhancer for the same bold color and fruity kick.
  3. Turn It Into a Slushie: Throw everything into an ice cream maker or margarita machine for a frozen version. (Just don’t blame me when you suddenly need a nap.)

Marye's Tip o' the day

For a real show-stopper, garnish your Sex in the Driveway cocktail with a pinch of edible glitter. It’s the little extra that makes your drink look like it stepped right off the runway—and trust me, your guests will be snapping pics before they even take a sip!

🤫 Marye's secret for zhuzhing it up

Freeze maraschino cherries inside ice cubes for a pop of color that won’t bleed into your drink. Lemons or limes, sliced and quartered, are pretty, too.

zhuzh: verb. To make something more interesting or attractive

👩‍🍳 Let's answer those questions: FAQs

Have other questions? Ask me in the comments!

Does Blue Curacao have alcohol?

About 20%. If you just want the color and citrus flavor without the booze, grab Torani’s Blue Curacao syrup instead.

What can I use instead of Blue Curacao?

Triple Sec or Cointreau work, but you’ll need to add a few drops of blue food coloring to keep the iconic color.

Can I make this low-carb?

Absolutely! Use diet Sprite and Mio blue water enhancer instead of Blue Curacao. You can also add sugar-free peach syrup if you find one.

⏲️ Marye's time saving hacks -

Want to stay hands-off at the party? Pour the pre-mixed cocktail into pint-sized mason jars, seal them up, and pop them into a big container of ice. No mixing, no mess, and your drinks stay cold.

Mix up a batch of sex in the driveway, pour it into mason jars, and toss ‘em in a kiddie pool full of ice next to the beer and sodas. Simple, sweet, and a little bit extra—just like any good Southern cocktail should be.

How much do I need for a gallon glass Beverage dispenser? I’m using it for a gender reveal party. And how much sprite do I add to that? Thank you

Follow the section above titled "by the pitcher". The chart should help. The last one on the chart for 24 servings is the gallon size.

Love anything with blue curaçao and peach schnapps. I can’t have carbonation, what can I substitute? I’m going to try Jell-O shots with the recipe, just swap out the sprite for lemon lime jello.

you can change it to up to 20 servings by clicking on the serving size and then moving the cursor up to as many servings as you need (up to 20) other than that I'd guess you'd have to do the math.
