You've gotta love a bright blue summer cocktail! This is one of my favorite vodka drinks because it's sweetly tropical with a little sparkle. The perfect party punch, and a little less blush inducing to say than the Sex in the Driveway!

Here are more great summer cocktail ideas!

This recipe is meant for people over 21 years old. Please drink responsibly.

❤️ Why you'll love this recipe

    • No one can resist a blue drink in the summer
    • It's easy to make as a single cocktail, a pitcher, or a punch
    • If you like sweet drinks you'll love this

This easy cocktail recipe is refreshing - the perfect adult drink to sip by the pool, on the porch swing, or with 100 of your closest friends at a backyard cookout!

    🧾 Ingredients

This is such an easy cocktail! I love it for summer entertaining because it's pretty, it's light, and it's refreshing!

Labeled ingredients for electric lemonade cocktail.
    • Vodka - some people like to use flavored vodkas - I prefer plain but try a few different flavors to see what you like best.
    • Blue Curacao
    • Lemonade
    • Lime is mainly for garnish but it does at a little extra burst of flavor.
    • Lemons
    • Club soda or lemon-lime soda - this really depends on how sweet you like it.

    🔪 Instructions

This electric lemonade cocktail goes together really fast and easy!

    1. Add vodka, blue curaçao, lemonade to an ice filled shaker.
    2. Shake well. This adds oxygen bubbles to the mixture which enhances the flavor.
    3. Strain into an ice filled glass.
    4. Add the club soda or lemon lime soda to taste.
    5. Squeeze in a little lime and lemon.
    6. Add a lime and/or lemon wheel for garnish.

    📖 Variations

Got kids? Make them their own, kid friendly, non-alcoholic Electric Lemonade mocktail by mixing half blue Kool Aid and half Sprite, then dropping in a lime wheel.

You can use the blue gatorade instead of the Kool Aid.

    💭 Tips

Expert Tip: Pour the mixture into a freezer container and freeze until slushy! It's so good that way!

    • Change the number of servings to "8" to make a great pitcher drink. All of the ingredient measurements will increase. If you don't know how to do this there are instructions on the Start Here page.
    • Save calories by using club soda instead of lemon lime soda!
    • Add some lemon and lime wheels to the glass or pitcher for pretty presentation and extra flavor.
    • I like to use this drink for 4th of July entertaining. Garnish with a cherry and a square of honeydew melon on a pick... or use a small star shaped cookie cutter to cut the honeydew into stars.

    • A cocktail tool set is really a necessity for perfectly mixed cocktail. I am in love with this set - it's pretty enough to display.
    • Several years ago we started using glass straws but it was frustrating trying to find some that were short enough for cocktails! Found them! These short glass straws are perfect for your electric lemonade drinks!

    📞 The last word

Personally, I don't think there's anything as civilized as the practice of cocktails by the pool in the summer. Not that I have a pool but sometimes I'll stick my feet in the old horse tank and pretend.

To me, a cocktail like this beautiful, blue electric lemonade recipe is a way to force myself to take a break and allow myself to relax. It breaks the day up between work and not-work.

    Kinda tastes like a vacation.

Shake up this pretty, blue summer cocktail and let the party begin! It makes a great pitcher drink, too.
