Y'all. It's got the soft texture of classic Wonder Bread but it's not going to make your blood sugar spike or give you those seriously annoying carb cravings.

🧾 Ingredients

Ingredients for this recipe.
Using fewer egg yolks and more whites keeps this recipe from having an eggy taste

  2. Combine all the ingredients and whisk together.
  3. Add 3 tablespoons of batter to the preheated waffle iron.

You'll need the following items to make this recipe successfully.

  • Dash mini waffle maker - has a ceramic, no stick surface
  • mixing bowl
  • whisk

🥫 Storage

Keep leftover keto chaffles in an airtight container or resealable plastic bag in the fridge for up to three days.

You can also freeze them for up to 3 months..

📖 Variations

  • Replace almond flour with hazelnut or macadamia nut flour for a different flavor.
  • You can also use coconut flour. I prefer almond flour chaffles but some people like coconut flour better.
  • You can use 2 whole eggs or 3 egg whites instead of my 1 egg white and 1 egg version. I think that the whole eggs make it too eggy.
  • For a spicy chaffle add diced jalapenos to the batter before you make it.
  • Add a half a cup of shredded Cheddar cheese to the batter.
  • Use lemon extract instead of water, then add 1 tablespoon of poppy seeds for lemon poppy seed chaffle!
  • For a chocolate chaffle add 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder and a tablespoon of your favorite low-carb sweetener to the batter for sweet dessert chaffles.
  • Powdered peanut butter also tastes great when added to the batter!

💭 Tips

Expert Tip: For best results make sure that you do not spray the waffle iron before adding your batter to it.

  • Make sure that you measure out the three tablespoons of batter that is added to your waffle iron so that it doesn't overflow the iron.
  • When stirring the batter, try to remove any lumps.
  • Mixing the batter in the blender is quick and easy. 100% recommend.
  • I like my waffle makers between medium and medium-high heat settings.
  • Fold your egg white into the waffle batter by gently whisking and cutting through the center and then folding together until you can't see any more egg white.
  • If you like a more crispy chaffle leave it in the waffle maker a bit longer.
  • This recipe is an excellent way to use a Mini Waffle Maker.

Laurie- If you've used the DASH waffle maker that I suggest spraying it will make it soggy. The best waffle maker for this recipe is one that is ceramic no stick.. as I recommended. I did not try this recipe with another kind.
