You know, when most people think of romantic occasions they think of pink or red — maybe even white. I don’t know, red is my favorite color, but I don’t think you can beat Tiffany Blue for romance. It’s soft, it’s tranquil, and it’s pretty but that’s not all. Tiffany Blue refers to the blue color of each box from Tiffany’s jewelers. Here’s the story straight from the Tiffany’s website.
The world has been enthralled with the distinctive Tiffany Blue Box since the very beginning. It was Charles Lewis Tiffany who mandated that the coveted boxes could only be acquired with a Tiffany purchase. As reported by the New York Sun in 1906, “Tiffany has one thing in stock that you cannot buy of him for as much money as you may offer, he will only give it to you. And that is one of his boxes.”
Glimpsed on a busy street or resting in the palm of a hand, Tiffany Blue Boxes make hearts beat faster, and epitomize Tiffany’s great heritage of elegance, exclusivity and flawless craftsmanship.
Is there really anything more romantic than getting one of those boxes?
This cocktail has the beautiful blue of a Tiffany’s box. The flavor is sweet and tart and tropical with bubbles. Who can resist bubbly cocktails? Not me! I think it’s perfect for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, bridal showers, baby showers, signature cocktail for a wedding… hey, any excuse to sip on this sparkly, sweet-tangy cocktail!
How sweet it is depends on whether you use the Moscato (sweet), the Prosecco (medium), or the Champagne (the least sweet and most complex). The percentage of alcohol in this is actually quite low which makes it perfect for a Valentine’s Day breakfast in bed or a wedding brunch.
Have you ever had Hypnotiq? It’s where the drink gets its color. Hypnotiq is a blend of vodka, cognac, and tropical fruit juices – I think it tastes a bit like grapefruit.

I like just a plain flute. I know there are pretty champagne flutes out there, all fancy and stuff but you know what? These plain flutes are beautiful in their simplicity and they show of the drink much better than any other kind of glass. These Bormioli flutes are on sale as of this writing (1/16/2016).
- 1 ounce chilled Hypnotiq liqueur
- 4 ounces chilled Moscato
Measure 1 ounce of chilled Hypnotiq into the champagne flute
Fill the flute with chilled Moscato.
