Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork tenderloin
  • .25 ounce onion soup mix
  • 10 ½ ounces cream of mushroom soup
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • ½ cup milk, or water

Instructions

  • Spray slow cooker with no-stick cooking spray.
  • Put the tenderloin into the crockpot.
  • Add cream cheese to cream of mushroom soup in a microwave safe bowl.
  • Microwave until softened, about 30 seconds.
  • Add onion soup mix and milk (or water).
  • Whisk until smooth.
  • Pour over the tenderloin.
  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  • Serve with noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes.

Notes

Storage:
Let cool to room temperature before refrigerating it in an airtight container for up to four days. Store leftover pork tenderloin in a sealed freezer bag or freezer-safe container for up to three months. Freeze single-serving portions for easy reheating.
Tips:
  • If you have a few extra minutes, sear the pork in a hot skillet with a little oil before adding it to the slow cooker to enhance its flavor.
  • Softened cream cheese is key because it blends more easily and prevents clumps in the sauce.
  • Cooking on low for 6-8 hours makes the pork incredibly tender. High heat works in a pinch, but low and slow creates the best texture.

📖 Make it your own: yummy variations

  1. You can swap the cream of mushroom soup with celery or onion soup instead for a different flavor profile.
  2. Substitute the onion soup mix with a packet of ranch seasoning for a creamy ranch twist.
  3. Add a teaspoon of Dijon mustard or Worcestershire sauce for more depth of flavor.
  4. Stir in a dollop of sour cream or plain Greek yogurt at the end for extra tang and creaminess.
  5. Amp up the heat—make your creamy pork spicy by adding your favorite hot sauce or buffalo sauce.

💭 Insider tips: things to know

  1. If you have a few extra minutes, sear the pork in a hot skillet with a little oil before adding it to the slow cooker to enhance its flavor.
  2. Softened cream cheese is key because it blends more easily and prevents clumps in the sauce.
  3. Cooking on low for 6-8 hours makes the pork incredibly tender. High heat works in a pinch, but low and slow creates the best texture.
  4. Don’t skip adding the milk. It prevents the sauce from getting too thick during cooking.

Marye's Tip o' the day

Chop carrots and waxy potatoes into chunks and toss ‘em in with the pork for a complete one-pot meal.

👩‍🍳 Let's answer those questions: FAQs

Have other questions? Ask me in the comments!

Can I use other cuts of pork instead of tenderloin?

Stick with pork tenderloin or pork loin. Tenderloin is leaner and cooks faster, while pork loin is slightly larger and may need more time to get tender. Pork shoulder and pork butt are fattier, so I don't love using them in this creamy recipe.

What additional seasonings can I add to pork?

If you’re looking to punch up the flavor of your creamy pork tenderloin even more, there are plenty of seasonings you can mix in with the onion soup mix.

Add fresh or dried herbs like thyme, rosemary, sage, or oregano. Smoked paprika and crushed red pepper flakes add a subtle smokiness and spicy kick.

How do I know pork tenderloin is thoroughly cooked?

Pork tenderloin is perfectly cooked when it reaches 145 degrees F on an instant-read thermometer, but it shreds more easily around 160 degrees F. By the end of the cooking time in this recipe, your tenderloin will be fork-tender, thanks to slow-cooker magic!

⏲️ Marye's time saving hacks -

If you’re in a hurry (or forget to start the slow cooker!), cook your pork on high for four hours.

Southern Fried Apples are sweet, buttery, and kissed with cinnamon like a slice of warm apple pie without the crust. The natural sweetness of the apples balances out savory pork for an unbeatable dinner combo.

🍽️ No waste: creative ways to repurpose creamy slow cooked pork tenderloin

Tender, creamy pork can be transformed into new meals that are just as delicious! Here are some creative ways to use it up:

  • Warm up tortillas and fill them with shredded pork and taco toppings like shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes or salsa, avocado, and a squeeze of fresh lime.
  • Toss the shredded pork tenderloin into fried rice with veggies, scrambled eggs, and soy sauce.
  • Make a pork pot pie! Combine the pork and sauce with frozen mixed veggies, pour it into a baking dish, and top with pie crust or biscuit dough.
  • Hollow out bell peppers and fill them with the pork, sauce, and cooked rice. Top with cheese and bake until tender and bubbly.

We love an easy, low prep dinner! Served over rice, noodles, mashed potatoes, or even a thick slice of homemade sandwich bread this is pure country comfort food that is hard to resist.
