Get ready to enjoy the best Texas mule cocktail ever poured into a glass (or copper mug if you prefer)! This refreshing drink mixes the bold flavors of reposado tequila with the zing of ginger beer and a splash of lime. To make it taste even more like the perfect Texas summer drink I've added a little peach schnapps.

Perfect for any occasion, it's sure to be what you reach for the next time you go porch sittin'.

This recipe is meant for people over 21 years old. Please drink responsibly.

Shaking your cocktail adds bubbles of oxygen, which in turn add extra flavor and sparkle. Be sure to cover tightly and shake vigorously for the best cocktail!

💭 Things to know

  1. Crushed ice keeps this tequila cocktail icy cold - but regular ice cubes are fine.
  2. Fresh basil leaves are pretty but you can garnish with lime, a peach slice, jalapeno or anything you like.
  3. Ginger beer and tequila taste great without the other ingredients in a pinch.
  4. Gingerale can stand in for the ginger beer.

Have other questions? Ask me in the comments!

What is a tequila mule?

When a mule cocktail is made with tequila it's called a Mexican mule. It's usually some combination of tequila and ginger beer with lime or other citrus.

Which ginger beer is the best?

That depends on your love of ginger! I prefer Reed's Jamaican Extra Ginger, but other possibilities are Bundaberg, or FeverTree.

Do copper cups keep drinks colder?

Scientifically they do not, however they are traditional.
