Spaghetti recipes that smack

Spaghetti is one of those dinners everybody thinks they know until you start messing with it. Add smoky barbecue sauce and Gouda. Toss it with chicken and plenty of cheese. Bake it until the top gets golden and bubbly. Or make a slow cooker sauce that spends all day getting rich and delicious while you take full credit for the situation.

That's what you'll find here. These aren't seventeen slightly different versions of noodles with red sauce. They're creamy, cheesy, saucy, sometimes a little spicy, and unapologetically built for people who consider pasta a perfectly reasonable coping mechanism for all of life's frustrations.

Most are easy enough for a weeknight, several make excellent use of leftover chicken, and the casseroles are exactly the sort of thing you want when you need to feed hungry people without negotiating individual dinner preferences. Pick one, add some garlic bread, and dinner is officially handled.

Cheesy Cowboy Spaghetti Recipe (in an Iron Skillet)

An iron skillet filled with pasta and topped with bacon and green onions.

Cowboy spaghetti takes an ordinary weeknight dinner and gives it a little Texas attitude. Ground beef, beans, fire-roasted tomatoes, and plenty of melty cheese make it hearty, saucy, and ridiculously satisfying. Best of all, it comes together in one skillet, because nobody needs a sink full of dishes after dinner. View Cowboy Spaghetti Recipe →

Easy One Pot Taco Spaghetti (Quick Weeknight Meal)

A closeup of tongs lifting a serving of taco spaghetti out of the pan.

Taco spaghetti is what happens when taco night and pasta night stop arguing and join forces. Ground beef, taco seasoning, Rotel, and plenty of cheese make it creamy, saucy, and full of Tex-Mex flavor. Better yet, everything cooks in one pot, so cleanup doesn't become the price you pay for feeding people. View Taco Spaghetti Recipe →

Cream Cheese Chicken Spaghetti Casserole with Rotel

Leftover chicken gets a serious glow-up in this creamy, cheesy spaghetti bake. Cream cheese makes the sauce extra silky, Rotel adds a little kick, and the whole thing is cozy enough to make a rough day feel less rude. Assemble it ahead if you want to spend some pre-dinner moments on the couch. View Cream Cheese Chicken Spaghetti with Rotel Recipe →

BBQ Chicken Spaghetti

This is the chicken spaghetti to make when you want something familiar but not boring. Sweet-tangy barbecue sauce, smoky flavor, and plenty of cheese give it a little Texas attitude without making it too fussy for a Tuesday night. Leftover bbq chicken has never had it so good. Crack Chicken Spaghetti

Ranch, bacon, chicken, and plenty of cheese make this creamy spaghetti casserole completely incapable of subtlety. It's the casserole equivalent of that wild friend you had to sneak out to see in high school: a questionable influence, ridiculously fun, and absolutely worth it. Quick and Easy Cream Cheese Pasta in 15 Minutes

A bowl of cream cheese pasta.

When the day has gone completely sideways, this 15-minute cream cheese pasta is the answer. Thin spaghetti gets coated in a savory, silky sauce made from simple ingredients you probably already have. Serve it as a light main dish or alongside grilled chicken when everybody is extra hungry. View Cream Cheese Pasta Recipe →

Spaghetti Pie

Slice of homemade spaghetti pie with cheese dripping from it.

Spaghetti pie is old-fashioned comfort food at its thrifty best. Leftover noodles get a second act with savory meat sauce and plenty of gooey, melted cheese, all baked into a hearty dinner that stretches what you have without tasting like you're stretching anything. View Spaghetti Pie Recipe →

Million Dollar Spaghetti

Close up of a plateful of million dollar pasta with cheese on top.

Million Dollar Spaghetti gives you all those rich, cheesy lasagna vibes without requiring you to wrestle with lasagna noodles. Layers of spaghetti, hearty meat sauce, and creamy cheese bake into a bubbly, old-fashioned casserole that tastes considerably more expensive than it is. View Million Dollar Spaghetti Recipe →

Classic Chicken Spaghetti with Rotel

Serving of chicken spaghetti being placed on a plate.

Chicken Spaghetti is pure Southern comfort food with tender chicken, Rotel tomatoes, and enough gooey cheese to keep everybody happy. It's on the table in about 30 minutes and freezes beautifully, which makes it particularly useful for those nights when you feel like you have a target on your back. View Chicken Spaghetti Recipe →

Crockpot Angel Chicken

Crockpot Angel Chicken is exactly the kind of dinner busy Mondays were made for. Tender chicken and a rich, savory sauce spooned over spaghetti or delicate angel hair pasta make it pure comfort food, while the slow cooker does most of the work. It tastes like you put in considerably more effort than the evidence supports. View Crockpot Angel Chicken Recipe →

Slow Cooker Chicken Tetrazzini

Creamy chicken tetrazzini in a slow cooker.

Slow Cooker Chicken Tetrazzini piles tender chicken and spaghetti into a creamy, cheesy sauce with peppers, onions, and plenty of garlic. It's cozy, budget-friendly, and mostly hands-off, so the slow cooker can worry about dinner while you deal with whatever fresh nonsense the day has produced. Ham Tetrazzini

Ham Tetrazzini is my favorite kind of leftover makeover: creamy, comforting, and hearty enough to make that holiday honey baked ham feel like a brand-new dinner. It's an easy, low-energy meal for the nights when you need something filling on the table without a whole lot of fuss. View Ham Tetrazzini Recipe →

Homemade 3 Ingredient Alfredo Sauce

I make this Homemade 3 Ingredient Alfredo Sauce when spaghetti needs to feel a little fancy without requiring a second trip to the store. Butter, cream, and real Parmesan melt into a rich, silky sauce in minutes-no flour, cream cheese, or pantry gymnastics required. View Authentic Alfredo Sauce Recipe →

Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce Big Batch

Thick homemade spaghetti sauce in a slow cooker with a wooden spoon.

I make this Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce Big Batch whenever I want dinner handled before the day gets away from me. Tomatoes, garlic, vegetables, and Italian herbs simmer low and slow into a rich, thick sauce, then I freeze it in meal-size portions for easy spaghetti nights with ground beef, sausage, meatballs, or no meat at all. 50 Sides For Chicken Spaghetti

a collage showing images from this post.

Chicken spaghetti may be creamy, cheesy perfection, but visually? She's a little beige. These 50 sides for chicken spaghetti include crisp salads, Southern vegetables, warm breads, and easy desserts that add color, texture, and a little variety to the plate. Perfect for family dinners, potlucks, or anytime all that beige needs backup. View What to Serve with Chicken Spaghetti →

🏡 Whether you're craving something creamy and cheesy, saucy and meaty, or just easy enough to make when your last nerve left the building around 3 p.m., there's a spaghetti recipe here for the job.

Keep a box or two of pasta in the pantry and dinner is never completely without a plan. Add garlic bread and a salad if you're feeling ambitious. If not, spaghetti is perfectly capable of carrying the evening by itself.
