Mix coconut oil into white chocolate (Candy Melts).
Dip Oreos into melted chocolate until completely coated.
Place in refrigerator to harden. This will take about 10 minutes.
Push the straw over the lollipop stick.
Draw the mouth and stitches on the Oreo with the marker.
Add the eyes and nostrils with the black royal icing.
Go over the mouth with the icing but not the stitches.
Attach the chocolate bats to the paper straw.
Let the icing harden - this will take an hour or two. Do NOT refrigerate.
Chocolate Bats
Melt bittersweet chocolate or dark chocolate melts.
Carefully add to the chocolate molds.
Refrigerate until the chocolate is hardened.
Remove from the molds.
Notes
Storage:Seal the leftover cookie pops in an airtight container and leave them at room temperature. They'll keep for about two weeks, but I don't recommend stacking them on top of each other.Don't refrigerate or freeze. The black food coloring in the icing will get smeary.Tips:
Add the coconut oil a little at a time; you may not need all of it.
If the marker seems dry or is running out of ink, touch its tip to a wet paper towel. This'll rehydrate it, and you'll get more bang for your buck.
DIY a "piping tip" by snipping off a small corner of a plastic baggie. Fill the bag with royal icing or chocolate, and you're good to go!
Use black paste food coloring for the royal icing. Gel or liquid will thin it out too much.
If you don't want to make the bat chocolates for the "bow" you can just tie a black satin ribbon bow around the straw -- but it's not as authentic!
