½ cup brown sugar

Notes

Storage:

Let leftovers cool, then scoop them into an airtight container. In the refrigerator, kielbasa and beans lasts for about five days.

If you use a freezer-safe container, your leftovers can last up to six months! Simply let it thaw in the fridge the night before you want to enjoy.

Tips:

- For extra flavor you can saute the sliced kielbasa in a skillet (before adding to the crockpot) until the edges are caramelized.

- Smoked sausage is fully cooked. Be sure to find a kielbasa that's smoked, not raw.

- You can leave the kielbasa and beans out on the warm setting in the crockpot. This is great on game day (in case anyone gets hungry during overtime) or on weeknights when everyone's schedule is different!
