Notes
How to make simple syrup:Dissolve 1 cup sugar in 1 cup boiling water, stirrng until the mixture is clear and there are no more sugar crystals.Let come to room temperature and store in the refrigerator in an airtight container. Use as needed.StorageIf you made a big batch of cranberry daiquiris you can pour the mixture into quart canning jars, cover tightly, and keep refrigerated for a week or more. Shake well before using.Tips:
Shake vigorously for best flavor and texture.
Use fresh lime juice.
Since lime juice can vary in sourness adjust the simple syrup accordingly. You may need a little more or a little less.
Add the squeezed lime half to the shaker when you shake the cocktail. It gives more flavor.
Start with a good rum. Light rum is traditional but dark rum is good, too.
I like to use frozen cranberries to chill my cocktails during the holidays. They cool the drink but they don't dilute it - and they look pretty!
