Ingredients
Crust for 2 crust pie
½
cup
butter
3
tablespoons
all-purpose flour
½
cup
granulated sugar
½
cup
brown sugar
packed
1
teaspoon
cinnamon
¼
teaspoon
cloves
¼
cup
water
8 to 10
apples
peeled, cored, and sliced
Instructions
Melt butter in a sauce pan.
Whisk in flour, sugars, cinnamon, sriracha, and water.
Bring to a
boil
.
Reduce temperature, and
simmer
5 minutes.
Put the bottom crust in your pan
Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar
Mix the sugar mixture and apples
Fill the crust with apples, mounded slightly
Cover with the lattice crust
Sprinkle with sugar
Bake 15 minutes at 425 degrees F
Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F
Finish baking for 35 to 40 minutes or until apples are tender
Let cool
Notes
Use pears in place of apples Add 1 cup chopped pecans Add 1 cup raisins soaked in rum
