16
ounces
chocolate
, chopped
2
tablespoons
Crisco
1
pound
fresh strawberries with leaves
Toothpicks
StyroFoam sheet
Instructions
Wash the berries gently but don't hull them. Set them aside to dry completely.
Once they are dry wipe them gently with paper towel before dipping.
Insert the toothpicks into the tops of the strawberries.
Melt the chocolate and shortening,in the microwave stirring often until smooth.
Hold the strawberry carefully by the toothpick, dip it into the chocolate mixture.
Twirl the berry slightly to allow the excess chocolate to flow around the berry.
Turn the strawberries upside down and insert the toothpick into styrofoam. Allow the chocolate to set before decorating.
The Crisco gives the chocolate a nice sheen in this recipe but it isn't absolutely necessary.
