Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temp
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • Zest of one small lemon
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 8 oz cream cheese room temperature
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  • Beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time.
  • Stir in vanilla and almond extracts and lemon peel.
  • Mix flour, salt, and baking powder, stir in and then beat in milk.
  • Pour into lined muffin cups and bake 18-20 minutes at 350F.
  • Cool.
  • Beat butter and cream cheese together until mixed.
  • Add rest of ingredients and beat until fluffy.
  • Add a little cream if needed to get the right consistency.
  • Use to frost cupcakes.
