RedGold Spicy Grilled Burgers take a really great summer tradition and make it amazing. It’s a simple as adding a can of RedGold drained diced tomatoes with chiles to the lean ground beef and topping the cooked burger with Sriracha Ketchup. Some of the ingredients were supplied by RedGold.
RedGold provided several of the ingredients for this recipe. You can win your own ingredients in an insulated grocery bag plus a Big Green Egg grill by following the instructions on the RedGold website. Be sure and get your entry in before July 22, 2015!
Fourth of July has pretty much always been a big deal for me. When I was little my parents always had theme parties for the fourth. One year they decorated the shrubbery around the pool with Christmas lights and Santa showed up and gave each guest Christmas presents. Another year everyone had to dress up like their favorite television commercial. This was back in the 1960s and parties were a way of life.
I haven’t had the opportunity to create those kinds of parties. For one thing I am not as social as my parents were and I keep my friends list quite limited. For another I just don’t have the time. Finally, I don’t think anyone I know would agree to dress up like their favorite television commercial! Still, I love to entertain when I can.
When I say that my husband makes the absolute best burgers in the universe I am not exaggerating. He has the gift of grill. He normally mixes them with some super-magical combination of seasonings and I get the night off but he’d worked until after 5pm on the Fourth and I had agreed to do this for Red Gold. So, I put the ground beef patties together but he cooked them.
I was a little concerned when I was mixing the meat up with the tomatoes because it seemed awfully loose even though I had drained the tomatoes well. I warned my grillmaster that he’d need to handle them gently and I handed him the tray.
One did fall apart but the rest turned out perfectly. The tomatoes and chiles give them an extra special flavor and a kick of spice. They were tender and juicy. The company had also sent me a bottle of Sriracha Ketchup. OMIGOSH! it was amazing! I love heat in my food and the combination was definitely fiery. I think my son-in-law was the only other one who braved the combination of spicy burgers and Sriracha ketchup.
I served the burgers on my homemade potato and sesame hamburger buns — I’ll try to get that recipe up later in the week. They were not as thick as usual because I made a recipe for 12 and then realized that I had to make 24 burgers. oh well, right?
I just rolled them thinner. 🙂
This recipe is straight from the RedGold kitchen — I didn’t change it one bit. Next time you are grilling burgers try this technique and see what you think.
