Remember those Popsicles that came in a plastic sleeve and you put in the freezer? Well, how would you like to have that same kind of fun with cocktails? Not just cocktails but low calorie cocktails?
The folks at Slim Chillers contacted me and wondered if I would be interested in trying out their new line of freezer pops for adults. C’mon y’all. I live in Texas where 95F is a cool summer day. I have a high stress lifestyle. Are you kidding me? What do you think I said?
The product was provided to me at no charge by Slim Chillers. No money was exchanged. My opinions are always strong and always my own.
So a box of Slim Chillers Skinny Freezers arrived a couple of weeks later. I put them in the freezer, being careful to put them in a different place than the kids’ freezer pops (OMG – that would be so bad. Hysterically funny – but so bad). Then I waited with about the same patience as my kids do.
Are they ready yet?
How about now?
Check them, maybe they’re ready now?
Mom! It’ only been five minutes!
The freezer pops come in four flavors.
- Watermelon Lemonade
Slim Chillers are made with vodka − they aren’t malt or wine based. They are 8% alcohol so you aren’t going to get smashed on them, and they have just 100 calories each. The packaging is clear so you can see the pretty colors.
First of all they are obviously made with artificial sweeteners. Of the flavors I loved the watermelon lemonade because you couldn’t taste that chemically aftertaste some sweeteners have … but the rest of the flavors tasted pretty chemically and I didn’t finish any of them I LOVED the watermelon lemonade and so did my friend, Edye. We both agreed that the others tasted too much like a chemical cocktail.
If you are used to using diet products with artificial sweeteners you will likely not have a problem with these. The only one I personally recommend is the watermelon lemonade. I am telling you it was so far above the others in flavor it’s not funny. I wish I had one now.
But I don’t.
I looked on the Slim Chillers website and I couldn’t find them for purchase so I have no clue how you are supposed to get them unless you live in California. There are numerous places listed on there Where to Buy map. I’d guess contacting them would be the way to go. If you happen to see them in your store give the watermelon lemonade ones a try.
