Menu for Week of August 8- 12, 2011

Since this is the first  menu in the series let me explain a little what I am doing.

I will be creating menus with links to the recipes for the 5 weekdays. I figure on the weekends you can relax, eat out, or try out those new recipes you have been wanting to. I am trying to keep the total time under 30 minutes but some of this will depend on how fast you are in the kitchen, and how much prep work you do  ahead of time.

I suggest you prep as many of your ingredients as possible when you get home from the store to speed things up. Chop all the green peppers for the week and put them in the vegetable drawer in a ziploc, Brown all of the hamburger you will need and divide it up for each recipe, etc. This will take maybe two hours when you  get back from shopping but it will save you a ton of time during the week. I’m Back and New Features on Restless Chipotle

I’m back!

I know I haven’t posted much – I have been busy enjoying my son, Chris, who was home on leave from Japan. It was the first time he was able to get leave time and come home in three years! He has been in Korea, Iraq (3 times), Kuwait, Alaska and who knows where else? All I know is that the hardest thing about having him in the military is not getting to see him for so long.

So, as I warned you at the beginning of the month, I was not going to be posting much. That doesn’t mean I didn’t cook. I have a bunch of recipes to post. Get ready!
