Mother’s Day brunch is a great idea that just doesn’t work here. Since Mother’s Day is always on a Sunday we are usually scrambling to get out the door and to church.
But the idea of a leisurely brunch is appealing to me and I fantasize about a time when I can sweep down the stairs to my sparkling dining room and daintily nibble at the brunch that has been lovingly prepared for me.
And this is why I go to church.. because that ain’t happening until Heaven and I want to make sure I don’t miss out.
This is my fantasy brunch menu. It is easy, can be made ahead for the most part, and is elegant and delicious.
Lavender Martini or Mimosa (make them with freshly squeezed blood orange juice for vibrant color)
Canadian Bacon
Coffee

Here’s to hoping that maybe when your children get a little older they will surprise you!
LOL! I have a 29 year old and a 25 year old… as well as teens. it is impossible with our Sunday schedule.
