Saturday Surfing

Ah… spring in Texas…green grass…. birds singing…. bluebonnets… tornado sirens, hail, and the rhythmic sound of trees crashing to the ground.

I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I guess much of the country has been experiencing Texas weather lately.. Don’t worry, folks.. it isn’t us sharing…its just Texas finally taking over the rest of the country.

One of the benefits is roses blooming in March and April. We pay for this in July when post 100 degree temps causes everything to stop any effort at all and just rest.

Anyway, my heirloom roses are blooming in front of the house. It may sound weird but no matter what is going on in my life roses ground me. They give me hope and the feeling I  can hold on a little longer. Roses make me go back to long, barefoot summers with bumblebees buzzing and the swish-swish sound of the sprinkler hooked up to the house.

In an odd way, violent Texas thunderstorms comfort me as well. They remind me of a great symphony playing Beethoven at full passion… I never am nervous about them, I love them. Even when this is the result….

Yep, those are a few of the pictures I took in my yard last week after a tornado/high winds event. We are still not sure which.

Two things you need to know. If you have an iphone or an android I have created an app to keep you in touch with RestlessChipotle. I don’t know how long I am going to have it because it costs me a monthly fee but if enough people enjoy it then I will keep it. So, if you download it and like it please let me know by comment either here or on Restless Chipotle Facebook page.  You can grab whichever link you need in the sidebar and just follow the directions for downloading.

Looks for some new stuff from Restless Chipotle over the next couple of months…

O.k.. You know what time it is, right?

We make the pineapple casserole every Thanksgiving! It is delicious and different.
I see why you said the flower pot was for inspiration. $100 really? It is beautifully artistic, but it is still flour, sugar, eggs…… LOL It is an absolutely gorgeous cake and would be very fun to duplicate. The hampster is running on this one.
    Thanks, Marye!

    1. Yep.. I am thinking of duplicating it with many layers, a soaking syrup, and a variety of fillings..we’ll have to see if I can achieve what I want. :)
